Our own record label for digitally distributed releases.
K-M Music is our record label. It publishes digitally distributed releases and exists for a straightforward reason: we were making music anyway, and the step between a finished track and somebody being able to hear it turned out to be almost entirely paperwork.
What the label handles
Catalogue management, delivery to the streaming platforms, release scheduling, metadata, and the rights administration that goes with all of it. None of it is interesting to describe and all of it decides whether a release reaches anyone.
Running it ourselves means we set the release dates, keep the masters, and do not have to explain a catalogue decision to anybody.
How it connects to the rest
A soundtrack written for one of our games is still a release. Keeping the label in-house means it can go out as one, without a licensing negotiation between two halves of the same company.
